One Thousand Words.

If a picture says a thousand words I think it’s only fair I let this post speak for itself, because words can only go so far. Manly beach will either leave you with warm fuzzy feelings that can be felt deep inside of you long after you have cleansed your mind, body and soul, or it will leave you with pants full of sand, deep inside your pockets. Either way there is no doubt as to why manly beach is a growing tourist attraction.

Pancakes on The Rocks

A word of warning, the servings are huge and you will want to inhale it all.

There is something for everyoune at this taste attraction. The menu begins with the glorious fluffy American-style pancakes that fill you up before you're even half way through your plate.

Devil's Delight

But that's not all, this family friendly extends to serving ribs (and plenty of them), pizzas, salads, nachos, fish & chips and lots more!  They also offer liqueurs, spirits and cocktails. I recommend trying out the fruit daiquiri cocktails (strawberry, mango or banana), it's just like a fruit slushie.

The restaurant is perfect to refuel when you've been cruising around Sydney for a day. The meals are low priced and high in amazing taste, it simply can't be described here - it's one of those experiences you have to absolutely try yourself! So if your hungry, you know where to go.

Nachos

Pancakes on the Rocks, as the name indicates, was initially opened on The Rocks but have since franchised out to several locations and all share the same amazing experience and taste. The one in the Rocks is open 24 hours, but be prepared for an outrageous queue on Sunday mornings.

Chinese Garden of Friendship

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a Chinese garden in Darling Harbour and close to Chinatown. Modeled on the typical private gardens of the Ming Dynasty, the garden offers an insight into Chinese heritage and culture.

Sydney's Chinatown complements the areas already rich Chinese heritage and culture. The gardens were officially opened in 1988 as part of Sydney's bicentennial celebrations and they were named the Garden of Friendship symbolizing the bond established between China and Australia.

The whole garden cannot be seen from any point within the garden. The garden has a number of features including the Dragon Wall symbolizing the bond between New South Wales and Guangzhou, the Water Pavilion of Lotus Fragrance, the Twin Pavilion and The Tea House that offers traditional Chinese tea and other refreshments. The garden is a popular venue for weddings, providing many beautiful backgrounds for photographs.

Darling Harbour

by Terry

Darling Harbour is the most favourite destination for leisure and entertainment in Sydney, which is just next to the Sydney CBD and Chinatown. It’s a beautiful place with shopping centers, lots of top restaurants, hotels, gardens and museums. The Sydney Aquarium, the Sydney Wildlife World, the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the Powerhouse Museum, the Aboriginal Centre, the Chinese Friendship Garden, etc. all locate around there, where you can enjoy for a few days.

Let's visit Uncle Ming's!

Who's up for a visit to Uncle Ming's?

First and foremost, you'll need help finding this new hotspot! This bar is literally underground on York Street. The only clue to finding it is an old rusty bicycle outside, with a small sign on it.

As soon as you enter Uncle Ming's, you can smell the infused incense. The rooms are full of vibrant reds, ornate wood screens, Chinese artefacts and lamps, Oriental wallpaper, candles and plenty of secluded spaces for groups. It's almost Chinatown transformed into a bar!

Inside Uncle Ming's

The drinks are flavourful and a must try. Their Asian inspired cocktails are named after famous Chinese celebrities - I strongly suggest a "Bruce Lee" (mix of sloe gin, vodka, peach, mint and ginger beer) or "Grace Chang" (Korean Soju, pomegranate and cranberry juice, fresh lime). They also offer traditional Asian alcoholic drinks such as Sake, Soju and Plum Wine so get adventurous!

Best of all, they offer a dumpling menu and have just recently launched a Yum Cha Lunch Service!

So, get down to Uncle Mings and experience this hidden gem for yourself.

Here, here for small bars!  Thank you for transforming the Sydney bar scene!
