First and foremost, you'll need help finding this new hotspot! This bar is literally underground on York Street. The only clue to finding it is an old rusty bicycle outside, with a small sign on it.

As soon as you enter Uncle Ming's, you can smell the infused incense. The rooms are full of vibrant reds, ornate wood screens, Chinese artefacts and lamps, Oriental wallpaper, candles and plenty of secluded spaces for groups. It's almost Chinatown transformed into a bar!

The drinks are flavourful and a must try. Their Asian inspired cocktails are named after famous Chinese celebrities - I strongly suggest a "Bruce Lee" (mix of sloe gin, vodka, peach, mint and ginger beer) or "Grace Chang" (Korean Soju, pomegranate and cranberry juice, fresh lime). They also offer traditional Asian alcoholic drinks such as Sake, Soju and Plum Wine so get adventurous!

Best of all, they offer a dumpling menu and have just recently launched a Yum Cha Lunch Service!
So, get down to Uncle Mings and experience this hidden gem for yourself.
Here, here for small bars! Thank you for transforming the Sydney bar scene!
