The Foxtrot

Hi everyone,

Natasha here, and today I'd like to reveal a secret to you all. Located at 28 Falcon Street on the North Shore is a must-see bar, hidden behind a dimly lit entrance, tiny sign and miniature door that you normally wouldn’t even notice.

The arty and creative pizza bar exclusively invites you back to the swanky 1920's; the music is funky and plays the occasional jazz, the enticing pizza and extravagant cheese platters are a must have and the candle-lit rooms each share a different tone. The first room you enter is a little library located at the front, filled with vintage shelves of old books and small tables, allowing you to gain some quiet and privacy. The next room is the main bar, which creates a relaxed vibe. Here, the bar staff are welcoming and can offer recommendations, including imaginative cocktails and suggested mixers  created and handcrafted by the owners themselves.

The Foxtrot Cheeseplatter, served with toasted bread, brie, blue cheese, grapes, some quince paste and an assortment of marinated olives and fetta cheese.

I was lucky to have a chat with one of the owners of this chic bar, Dylan Eisenhut, who also brings you The Ponyroom in Manly. When I asked what inspired him to create this type of  atmosphere, he replied 'It's somewhere I'd like to be. You can't sell something you don't believe in so we based it on something real'.

Following the bar is a chilled lounge room filled with antique framed paintings, little nooks and crannies and your grandmother’s old vintage furniture that looks livelier than ever. However the indoor garden balcony is my favourite place to enjoy a drink with friends, located upstairs. The ladders on the wall, fake grass and flower filled wall frame and outdoor garden style furniture are still not enough words to describe it’s amazing impression.

The Foxtrot opened July 1st, 2011 and it has been a roaring success since its launch. The  welcoming atmosphere and innovative drinks always bring me back. I strongly suggest spreading the word to your own friends! Or maybe keep it a secret... it could be your own private oasis ;)
